T minus 16 days

A practice blog before we embark on our travels.

So, house is almost packed up, visas have arrived, Indian Ruppee card got. This week families will be descending on our almost bare house ahead of our leaving party. This all means the big trip is almost here.

Flight to Kolkata (Calcutta) is Tue 24th, we have accomodation booked for 6 nights while we adjust to India and plan what to do next, then we see where the wind takes us. There is a vague idea of an itinerary, whcih largely includes retreating to the mountains - Darjeeling then Nepal, within first few weeks. We have befriended a self-sustaining orpahage in Pokhara, Nepal where we will spend a few weeks to help them out however we can (check out Annapurna Self Sustaining Orphanage).

So, via this site we will be posting updates on our whereabouts and experiences, plus photos and a map of our journey.
